The compact NovAtel SPAN-CPT GNSS + INS receiver is powered by NovAtel’s innovative OEM6 technology. It is available in a wide range of positioning modes, including SBAS, L-Band and RTK. The SPAN-CPT is equipped with a Fiber Optic Gyros (FOG) and Micro Electrical Mechanical System (MEMS) accelerometers, which work together to optimize the raw GNSS and IMU data, and deliver results of up to centimeter level accuracy.
The SPAN-CPT offers a SPAN (Synchronous Position, Attitude and Navigation) solution, which combines the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positioning technology with the Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) technology to deliver accurate and continuous 3D results, even during short periods when satellite signals are unavailable.
Moreover, the SPAN-CPT can be used with NovAtel’s AdVance RTK and satellite based augmentation systems such as SBAS to further enhance its real-time results. For applications that require even higher level of accuracy, such as applications for military use, options like Inertial Explorer (IE) post-processing software are available.
The SPAN-CPT is backward compatible and its design allows customers to upgrade their legacy product to the new version seamlessly. Production of SPAN-CPT featuring the OEM6 technology will begin in June 2013.
